The Natives had a busy day and Mommy is tired

Busy week here on the waterfront. Got the pool ready. Yes I know we live on the water but who really wants to go into the water unless it’s chlorinated? No me. I don’t need the sand between my toes or to step on something I can’t see and freak out because I would freak out. Not to mention the grass in the water. I have a vivid imagination and that could end up being anything…a squid, octopus, snake, even the Loch Ness Monster! Nope, I like the good ole clear water of a pool that I have to add millions of dollars to upkeep. That’s just me. The natives got in the pool for the first time yesterday. They had a blast! G likes to lay back in the floating ring like an old man with a beer sleeping does. G loves it so much when it’s time to get out, he screams like I just took away his ice cream sandwich.  That boy was not happy! But it wore him and his sister out (not to mention me and daddy) and they went right to bed at bedtime.

Speech therapy was today and it has been moved to 8am. I don’t mind the time but it sure is early when I’m used to throwing out a couple sippy cups of milk and some cheerios on the table for breakfast while kicking back watching the cheerios fly off in record time while they proceed to eat them off the floor for the next few hours. Now I have to be conscientious about what I put out on Wednesday’s so they don’t make a mess within 15 minutes of getting up. So two hours of supervised entertainment for the natives. Yeah me!!! We do love our speech therapist! Z said 2 new words today and G said 1. We are slowly getting there and I know one day they will be talking non-stop over each other like they babble now over each other and I’ll be wishing I can hear the radio in the car or the newest Yo Gabba Gabba episode because I AM the local entertainment when songs come on and the natives want to dance but want live words to go with their dancing.

Soon as speech is over, Z has 30 minutes to get to her Orthotic appointment and G is not having any of that because he wants to go! And it doesn’t matter that daddy and both his older brothers are home, he wants to go because Z is going. We get to the appointment late because, well…procrastinate is my middle name. As we walk into the office, there is a couple there and as soon as G walks in (I’m also trying to get Z in) and sees this couple, he turns around and tries to walk out. He’s having none of that! So G is screaming, yep, it’s an all out screamfest for him while Z is just holding my hand trying to figure out what the fuss is about. We get called back and we are always the main attraction when we go because Z is just so damn cute and when you multiply her with a boy version, it’s just simply adorable. So we end up with three people in the room today, oohing and aahing at the natives and they are eating it up. Screamfest is now over and hide and seek is now the game of choice. I’m being twisted this way and that way as four feet are trying to stand on my two feet and while I admit I have big feet, I only have two and four more just don’t feet with my flimsy shoes. So rubber is being ground across skin and I can only say “ouch, get off mommy’s feet” because I don’t want child services in there and especially when I’m already outnumbered with three witnesses. So I grin and bear it and finally we are walking out and heading home. Whew!

I am still cutting out coupons. It’s like a never ending story. I keep telling myself that those are dollar bills because I feel blisters starting on my thumb from those scissors. Mother in Law gave me a boatload of coupons. Some expired a few months ago, some yesterday and some a month or two from now so I got some good ones I can still use. Went to one store tonight and saved 44% on what I got. Very happy with that since we have crappy stores here where you can only use two coupons for items so I have to have a master plan and an extra body when I go since 20 coupons a day is the limit per a person. We took the natives and it was a 2 hour field trip for them! They loved it and the attention they got from everyone was really cool. I can handle the, “Are they twins?” question because I’m lucky that people in North Carolina aren’t rude or say something stupid because I’m the type of person who you would see on the news for my 5 minutes of fame. BREAKING NEWS!! Mother of almost 2 year old twins being escorted from Farm Fresh in handcuffs after dispute with stupid person who asked the wrong question. Details at 11.

Now I’m home, the natives are in bed and since it’s the first of the month, bills have to be paid and college loans have to be submitted. But luckily I already have some of my day planned for tomorrow. I need to call three of the bills and get stuff straight with them as well as call the college and ask them to walk me threw step by step what I need to do so I can get rid of my oldest for 10 months this fall while looking like a good parent as well as a broke one.

Well, hubby is almost done with the kitchen clean up so I guess I’ll end this for now so we can both finish at the same time without me helping, lol.

One more day survived. WooHoo!!
